Obituary

Velma - Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Jo Haynes, 77 of Duncan, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel with Rev. Eugene Christian officiating and Bro. Richard Allen and Bro. Mike LeHew assisting. Interment will follow to Alma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. We respectfully ask that those in attendance to please wear a mask.

Linda was born October 6, 1943 in Duncan, OK to the late Mr. Forrest Cox and Mrs. Captola (Martin) Cox and she departed from this life on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Oklahoma City.

Linda was raised in Velma graduating from Velma High School. She was baptized in Skelly Pond. Linda married Mr. Richard Jones and they were blessed with two girls, Renee and Lea. Later, she married the love of her life, Jim Haynes. They moved to Washington State for about 6 years before moving back to this area. Linda enjoyed gardening, gambling, casinos, cooking, card games and playing marbles with her parents at the lake. But most of all, she enjoyed attending the grandkids school activities.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Donna Parks; love of her life, Jim; and by her canine companion, Snoopy.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Renee Willmon of Duncan and Lea Christian and husband Cliff of Alma; grandchildren, Bobby Jo Womack and Mackayla Remlea Womack; great granddaughter, Paisley Jo; and by a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Alan Thacker, Cliff Christian, Ronnie Lumbert, Brandon Castleberry, Johnny Taylor, and Jerry Loveall.
